The Beaver of the Week

Amidst the thick and fast action of our first fuel session in the new Canucks section at Ceili's a minor announcement due to be made by our esteemed club captain David Exley was missed.

Mr Exley and I (Dave Byrnes) planned to introduce a new weekly feature to the social activities of the Canucks. Those of you who noticed that I was sporting a rather spiffy fur coat can rest assured that there was some method to my madness and my fashion choice was not completely a result of the shower incident last year.

Yes that's right sports fans, one lucky Canuck will be presented with the Beaver Coat each week as the winner of the new Beaver of the Week award.

The Beaver of the Week will recognise the Canuck who stands above his peers in a moment of fueled up lunacy or plain sober idiocy and provides the greatest amusement to his team mates. The Beaver of the Week will be required to sport the coat during all rugby activities each Saturday, including all after-match social functions

Obviously this award can not work without input from the members of the club and so I ask you all to rat out your friends to the Beaver editor by no later than Wednesday each week.

With the establishment of this award comes the exciting return of the Beaver newsletter which will appear on this very website for which all submissions can be made to the above email address and will go to print each Friday.
